Find the fault before choosing the repair

A dead outlet, flickering light or tripping circuit is a symptom, not a diagnosis. The problem may involve a device, connection, circuit, panel or the equipment being supplied. Troubleshooting helps establish where the work is needed.

We assess electrical problems in homes and businesses in Pasco and Pinellas County.

Describe the pattern you have noticed

  • Which rooms, outlets, lights or equipment are affected?
  • Is the problem constant or intermittent?
  • Does it occur when particular equipment starts or runs?
  • Did it begin after a new installation, repair or other change?
  • Has the affected area expanded or changed over time?

You do not need to open a device or test wiring to answer these questions. Your observations help explain the problem and plan the assessment.

Diagnosis and repair are separate decisions

Once the cause is understood, the repair may involve a connection, device, wiring or other equipment. Replacing the most visible component does not necessarily solve an upstream fault. We discuss the appropriate scope instead of assuming every symptom calls for a new panel or a complete rewire.

Related work can include outlet and switch repairs, breaker and circuit work or an assessment of panel condition.

Questions about troubleshooting

Can you identify a problem from a description?

A description helps narrow the inquiry, but it cannot confirm every cause. Testing and access to the relevant equipment may be needed before a repair can be selected.

What if the fault only happens sometimes?

Tell us when it occurs, how long it lasts and what was operating at the time. Intermittent faults can need a different assessment than a circuit that is continuously without power.

Arrange an assessment

Have your city or ZIP code, property type and a short description ready. Availability, diagnostic scope and any repair work need confirmation. An online request is not a confirmed appointment.

Before you contact us

Note the affected rooms or equipment and when the problem happens. Include recent electrical changes if you know about them.

Do not touch damaged wiring or repeatedly reset a faulting circuit. For smoke, fire or immediate danger, move away and contact emergency services.
